BARATXURI’S BASQUE DINING CLUB

A NEW STEAK EVERY MONTH FROM WEDS 22ND FEB

Meaning ‘nook’ or cosy corner in Basque, txoko is a tradition dating back to 1870 in San Sebastián. Friends gather on the down low to eat, drink, sing and talk – and don’t forget the cooking.

Modern txoko champions using fresh produce and cooking from scratch, exemplifying slow food. Much akin to an English pub (but tastier), these socials are a cultural staple in Northern Spain.

Baratxuri’s Joe loves it so much, he’s bringing it to Manchester. Join us every last Wednesday of the month for our very own steak society – starting 22nd February. In the spirit of curation, Exhibition’s TXOKO will focus on a new rare breed each time.

THE STEAK.

Kicking things off for our first ever dining club is the Portuguese Black Angus. Aged for 30 days and cooked blue over Baratxuri’s live fire Rescoldo grill, this cut balances it’s robust meaty flavour with a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture from the fat. Pair with a bottle or two of our Protos Ribera del Duoro for a truly authentic txoko feast.

BOOK YOUR TABLE.

Tickets are priced at £100 – including the steak of the month with a selection of traditional Basque sides such as tortilla, tomato salad, jamón Ibérico and padron peppers. Suitable for 2-4 people (depending on the healthiness of one’s appetite).
